Woohoo! Our July picnic was a success. The WCYD invited all to come out a post-4th of July, Independence Day celebration at Schaffer Park in Boonsboro, MD. We had a turn out of about 20 people. We had a great game of kickball, two guest speakers and a wonderful picnic dinner. We are thankful to our guest speaker, Hagerstown City Council member, Ashley C. Haywood and to YDM President Jake Weissmann for making the trip to join us for dinner.
It has been agreed by the WCYD to put July meetings on hold and communicate via email. If you would like to be a part of this email me at washcoydms@gmail.com or send us a message on facebook.
Our first scheduled meeting is Tuesday, August 4th and is an executive board meeting. As always, everyone is welcome to attend. If you would like information on the time and location please send us an email or join our group "Washington County Young Democrats" on facebook.
We are looking forward to a productive start to the school year. Our recent topic of discussion is how we would like to recruit in colleges and high schools.
This group is intended for all of the Young Democrats in Washington County, Maryland in affiliation with the Young Democrats of Maryland and the Young Democrats of the United States. The purpose of this group is to spread the ideals of the Democratic Party through Washington County in order to better the community. We as society's youth have a powerful position, after all, we one day shall be running society!
